State business licenses are issued by the DeKalb County Probate Judge’s Office and are valid for the fiscal year beginning October 1st through September 30th.

ONLINE RENEWAL will be available beginning October 1, 2026 for the 26-27 license year.

NOTE: Online renewal is not available for new businesses or businesses that did not purchase a license within the last year.
Renewal Deadline: Licenses must be renewed by November 1 to avoid penalty and interest charges.
NOTE: Some business types require verification of supporting documents prior to applying for or renewing a license. Common examples include, but are not limited to:
Restaurant – Health Food Permit from ADPH
Auto Dealer – Regulatory License from ALDOR
Firearms Dealer – Federal Firearms License from ATF
